When Is It Time for a New Furnace?

Furnaces in Winnipeg work hard. Most modern systems last 20–25 years with proper maintenance. You're getting close to replacement territory when:

• The furnace is over 18–20 years old
• Repair costs are approaching $1,000 or more
• You've repaired it twice in the last two years
• Your gas bills have been climbing despite no change in usage
• Some rooms heat fine, others don't — despite duct cleaning and balancing
• The heat exchanger is cracked (a safety issue — replace immediately)

What We Install

• Variable-speed (modulating) — Adjusts continuously. Best efficiency, best comfort, qualifies for the highest Manitoba Hydro rebates.

Manitoba Hydro HEEL Financing

Allied is a registered Manitoba Hydro contractor for the Home Energy Efficiency Loan (HEEL) program. This is the best financing deal available for furnace replacement in Manitoba:

• Up to $20,000 in financing
• 0% interest for up to 15 years (paid back through your Hydro bill)
• Available for high-efficiency gas furnaces, heat pumps, and insulation upgrades

We handle the application. You approve the work, we submit the paperwork. Ask us what your project qualifies for when you call.

The Installation Process

1. In-home assessment. We measure your home, check existing ductwork, and confirm what size and efficiency tier makes sense.
2. Written quote. Equipment, labour, any ductwork modifications, permits. No surprises.
3. Scheduling. Most installations take one day. We try to get your old system removed and the new one running before we leave.
4. Startup and testing. We run the system through its modes, check all safeties, and verify performance before we pack up.
5. Duct cleaning. Included free with every new installation. New furnace, clean ducts.
6. Permit and inspection. We pull the permit and arrange the city inspection — required by code in Manitoba.

What About the Old Furnace?

We haul it away. Part of the job. You don't need to worry about disposal.

Oil-to-Gas Conversion

If you're on oil and want to switch to natural gas, this is often the best time to make the move. Gas is cheaper per BTU in Manitoba, and modern high-efficiency gas furnaces are significantly more efficient than oil. We handle the conversion and can coordinate with Centra Gas for the new line if needed.
